Negroni Week 2017: June 5-11

If you are not aware of the Negroni, where have you been!? 

It’s an Italian classic and one of the fastest growing cocktails in Australia in the past few years. Go to a top end cocktail bar or a local Italian joint and they will be pumping out some pretty tasty Negronis. They are a bitter, bold, smooth and a pretty hard drink with the bit of a punch. Yes it’s an aquired taste, but delicious!  

However popular these drinks are getting, it’s surpising how many people dont know about the drink, here you go, check out the video below and scoll down for more info on Negroni Week. 

In celebration of this great drink, every year Imbibe magazine and Campari present Negroni Week. June 5th- 11th we will be offering our Barrel-aged Negroni, and alternatives to help spread the word of this great drink and raise some $$ for a great cause.  The barrel ageing of the negroni makes it a little smoother and bring all the characteristics together from the classic negroni. 

We have already donated to Ozharvest and the more we sell in this period the more we will donate. $2 from every additional drink will be sent to help support Ozharvest at the end of the week. 

Like our Street Smart campaign which we run every December,  and raises hundreds of dollars, we are asking you guys to come in and support these great causes which really go to help the grass roots issues in Australia.

Drink up, it’s for a great cause, and if it’s your first Negroni, make it a great one. Even if you don't like it, at least your purchase will help out those in need.

Get carb-loading for the Sydney Half Marathon this Sunday!

Sunday 21st May is the Sydney Half Marathon presented by The Sydney Morning Herald. Another great event in this wonderfull city! 

It’s been  medically proven that carbloading before a long distance race can basically make you a winner.  This means you should visit us at least once this week in the run up to the big race. Your trainer will love you for it, trust us! 

But seriously, while carbloading can help in the weeks leading up to a long distance race, we are just having a bit of fun. Ofcourse eating a tonne on pizza and pasta all the time isn't going to do much to help your training but like anything, in moderation, it can actually help you build up your energy reserves for slow release energy on the big day! And if you’re not running, then there is always a place for pizza and pasta in your life, any day of the week!  

Sydney Half marathon is a great race which goes through the heart of the city, fingers crossed for a beautiful day on Sunday! If you are visiting Sydney, and want to watch it there are some great vantage points around the City, from the botanical gardens, to the rocks and around the newly developed Barangaroo area. Cheer on the runners, and explore this great city! It also raises a huge amount of money for charities, so if you know any one who is running, throw them a few $$ to their nominated Charities! 

We are open every day from 6pm during the week,  and 5.30pm Friday-Sunday. So get to the gym, and then carry on the training with us :) 

 

 

Looking for the perfect long lunch to celebrate something special?

We LOVE hosting parties, in fact with a whole floor dedicated to groups we are well practiced at looking after the needs of big groups. You guys can be pretty crazy at times, but we love celebrating with you! (just keep some cake for us!)   With our no-need to order concept,  it’s super easy for all involved. You can even spit the bill when you sign up to a brand new bill splitting app called groupee. Check it out next time you dine with us.  

We have designed a number of sharing menus for larger groups from simple pizza and pasta, to extended three course feasts including our “to-die-for” tiramisu, as well as additional sides, salads and much more, plus you can now add drinks packages so you know how much you will spend, however merry  you get! ( glug, glug, glug … all within RSA of course)

Talking of drinks, our great drinks list has everything from wines by the glass and bottle, beers, sharing cocktail jugs and of course delicious softs drinks for those more responsible, all at very reasonable prices. For those that love a few drinks and plan to celebrate, for just $35 pp you can also include a 2 hours drinks package which includes selected beers, wines and prosecco.

WEEKEND LONG LUNCHES

Did you also know that our incredible communal dining table can be booked privately for big groups on weekend lunches. It is the perfect space for a family style long lunch, where food and wine flows as easily as the conversation , and with space for up to 28 people, there is more than enough room for you closest friends to enjoy a special occasion with you in a private setting.  

We have designed all inclusive food and beverage packages which are great value, starting at just $89 pp meaning you need not make any decisions. You will be served a delicious variety of Italian antipasti, salads, arancini and pizza and pasta until you are fully satisfied. All washed down with Italian beers and wine.

Yes... we do now split the bill for groups 🎉

We know this is one of the biggest questions you all ask... Can we split the bill?

Well, until now we have been pretty strict at saying no. Why? Well it's complicated... But the most exciting thing is that this is about to change, thanks to groupee. There are loads of reasons why we, and so many other restaurants have been saying no splitting he bills in the past, but that's about to change!

So we know its frustrating when 25 of you finish, no one has cash and you need to either run to the nearest ATM or transfer to your mate while he puts it on his card.  You should be heading to another bar and not dealing with this!

So why cant we, and why do we do this to you? 

We can only talk from our oint of veiw, but this is a sydney wide issue. No on lets you split bills, and it does suck, but its gonna be better, we promise 

We offer exceptional value in our offering, and with that means that we dont have a door person standing at the door with little else to do but welcome guests and print bills. and thus it is our waitsaff who run bills, and take payments. Its just not possible to take them away from serving tables for such a long time to split a bill a million times ( 😡) Each card transaction takes up to 1 minute, not even allowing for people unsure of the account, or getting the pin wrong, or not having money in the account and needing to transfer. Multiply this for 25 and thats nearly half and hour to process 1 bill. We seat 75 people, in one siting. So you see where im going. 

But... this is the past, let us focus on the future. This is the exciting bit.  

Did you know there is an app out there which lets you and your mates not only split the bills, but take payments effortlessley and deals direct with the restaurant meaning if you all use groupee no transaction takes place and it can take just one minute for 25 people to split the bill. .  Means you guys can work it all out once you have your bill, get the staff to simply sign off the transaction with one simple code and you are one your way!

We love the idea of groupee and you can use it to pay your  way whether you are a couple of mates or a party of 48! It's another way to make Sydney dining even more accessible. 

World Nutella day!

That's right, it has its own day to celebrate the deliciousness of itself! And that day is this Sunday 5th of February! 

This sunday, we are celebrating world Nutella day by offering $10 Nutella pizzas to our diners. We know. Wtf. 

So save a little bit of room for dessert this Sunday, and celebrate the best chocolate spread in the world for just $10 when you dine on any of our menus.

Welcome to 2017! 🎉 🎊 🍕 🍴

Happy New Year! We hope you had an enjoyable break over the festive period, or if you are a visitor, we hope are enjoying some time in our beautiful city of Sydney! 

What a year 2016 was! We are so proud of our little restaurant and can't wait to see what 2017 will bring as we continue to grow!

2016 saw us welcome more and more people through our door each and every week, and deliver thousands of meals direct to you. Without you, this would of course not be possible, and we thank you for your continued support. Not only have thousands visited every month, but so many of you write amazing reviews on Tripadvisor, Zomato and Google which continue to showcase our restaurant to the world!

Because of these amazing reviews, we received a Tripadvisor Certificate of Excellence in mid 2016.  These are given to only the best restaurants with consistently high reviews on TripAdvisor. We are currently in the top 100 restaurants in Sydney. So thanks 😃

The past year also saw huge shake up in food delivery which has been massive for us. We now deliver hundreds of meals a week to locals and visitors through partners like UberEats, Foodora and Deliveroo, which was previously not possible. Of course,  our locals can continue to pick up direct from us, receiving a 15% discount, plus you also get to say HI!

 In 2017 we will continue to add even more delicious Italian inspired takeout options to keep you fed while unable to visit the restaurant. Keep and eye on our takeout options on our website for an updated menu. 

2016 saw us add new group menus for our dine-in guests perfect for that extra special occasion and our group space has been packed, so we advise booking in early to avoid disappointment. 

In 2017 we will continue to grow our private dining options which have already been popular in 2016.  Our awesome concrete slab dining table is now available weekend lunches for private parties, seating up to 28 people. It's the perfect space for a big get-together with friends and family.

2017 will also bring an expansion to our offsite options, serving you when you can't come to us. We will be adding to our catering options throughout the year, which are already available for office catering and large parties. We plan to roll this our further to local businesses, to keep you fed throughout the day (or night!). From our delicious Pizzas and pasta, through to delicious desserts, sides and salads.  If you would like more info don't hesitate to get in touch.
